I was recently asked to join an exploration expedition of the Atlantic Ocean with my friends from the Algalita Marine Research Foundation. Algalita is one of the worlds leading marine researchers of the harmful effects of plastics in our oceans. Known for their extensive research of the North Pacific Gyre, the Algalita Marine Research Foundation is dedicated to the protection of the marine environment and its watersheds through research, education, and restoration. The first leg of the Atlantic Gyre research trip that I will be apart of will be from The Us Virgin Islands to Bermuda over the coarse of 2 weeks to collect new data on the amount of plastic and it's effects on the marine life. I am very excited about this once in a lifetime opportunity and extremely grateful that EcoUsable has decided to send me on the trip. I will keep you posted...
